WE ARE BACK! We have moved to a new location, 10 doors along from the previous one.
The new location is still on Priory Queensway, opposite B&M, and just around the corner from The Law Courts and Corporation Street and just 5 mins walk from SNOW HILL TRAIN STATION and MOOR ST TRAIN STATION and only 8 mins walk from NEW STREET TRAIN STATION.
You can’t drive past the shop as it’s buses only but PARKING NEARBY IS SIMPLE! The best car park to use is the NCP High Street multi storey in Dale End (postcode B4 7LN) which is also known as Albert St or High St.
The Car Park costs from only £1 per hour, possibly the cheapest in the City and it’s only a 4 minute walk from our new shop!
We have moved! We are still Birmingham’s City Centre Music Shop, just a little further along the same road. We are easy to find from our previous location, just follow Priory Queensway eastward, cross over the roundabout, past the small Tesco, then Warhammer, and we are on the left, on the raised walkway.
The West Midlands branch of Hobgoblin Music opened in July 2003 in Birmingham. In May 2014 the shop was moved to bigger premises closer to the city centre. The building also contains a branch of the woodwind specialists Wind-World.
In December 2022 we relocated to a new shop 10 doors along from the previous one, opening on Wednesday 7th December, due to building works at our usual location.
Hobgoblin Music in Birmingham stocks our full range of folk and acoustic musical instruments, spares, accessories and tutor materials, and specialises particularly in woodwind (folk and orchestral), accordions and melodeons.
We do repairs! We carry out some instrument repair work on site, and can also send instruments to specialist repairers for more complicated work. Repair work undertaken includes ukulele, bouzouki, mandolin and guitar setups and restringing, accordion, melodeon and concertina tuning and repairs, woodwind and brass repairs and maintenance, specialist violin set ups and repairs, bridge and peg fitting, bow rehairs, banjo or drum skin replacement, and much more besides – contact us for information or bring in your instrument for a free, no-obligation quote.
If you’re looking to sell a musical instrument then get in touch to see what we can offer you. We buy some instruments outright if the price is right, and we’ll consider a trade-in for almost any instrument. We also take lots of instruments on a commission basis, and we’re particularly keen to stock instruments by local luthiers and makers. Bring in your unwanted guitars, ukuleles, banjos, concertinas, melodeons, accordions, flutes, woodwind and brass instruments, violins, keyboards and more, and we’ll see what we can do for you! If your instrument is bulky or you would need to travel a fair way to get to us, please do contact us by email or phone first so we can let you know whether it’s worth bringing in.
We are often able to offer short or long term musical instrument rentals for various types of instrument. If you would like to rent a musical instrument from us, please get in touch to find out how we can help.
